Keynote Speaking

As a keynote speaker and a member of the Canadian Association of Professional Speakers (CAPS), Jody Eagen is known as an expert in the area of human development, effective communication and continuous learning.

In order to make long lasting change, we must first understand our personal filter that we bring to each behavior, i.e. we must get to know ourselves better - our beliefs, opinions and attitudes. To do this we must have a high level of self-honesty and willingness to accept our selves and others.

Once we are ready to unlearn old patterns of behaviour, we must be ready to embrace new techniques. To this end, Jody speaks about communication skills, personal ownership and emotional effectiveness.

Keynote Speeches include:

  • Authentic Leadership

  • Jody's discusses his latest model on being a leader - which each one of us is.  When we effectively act based on on what we are passionate about we lead naturally. Learn the importance of defining what vision, contribution, fulfillment, confidence and integrity are for you as a leader.

  • Effective Communication
Number one on the charts since companies started doing employee surveys. How do we tackle this monster and make it simple to improve our bottom line by reducing the unnecessary and ineffective communication practices we have. A simple model can go a long way and it can be fun as well.
  • Continuous Learning and Progress

  • Change, and adapting to it, is a continuous process. We cannot be expected over night to transform and learn what is required to be effective in our ever expanding worlds. We can though learn from every day events if we are conscious while we set our progress targets and goals.

  • Emotional Effectiveness

  • Resentment, anger, withdrawal, martyr, guilt, revenge, frustration and other emotions can hurt us personally and professionally if not used or managed effectively. How do I make a different choice when one of these emotions start to arise? How can they be used constructively?

  • Organizational Alignment

  • Our mission statements and values sit passively and unread on the walls. What are we doing to ignite them? How does an organization know that their employees embrace them? How do employees align themselves and their own mission and values to that of the company's?
  • If You Can Laugh At It, You Can Live With It
Jody takes a light hearted, fun, laughter filled look at our unique communication styles. The road to acceptance and change is the ability to laugh at oneself and others. This interactive speech provides an opportunity to do just that.
  • Challenge Your Self

  • This is not another speech about doing more. It's about looking at the core of who we are and what we believe and the benefit of questioning it all in the name of life-long learning and long-term transformation. Our past has created training wheels we do not need anymore. Is it not time to let them go.

  • Personal Ownership

  • How often have you had a feeling that someone or something "did it to you"? How long did that feeling of being a victim last? Jody discusses the prices we pay for being a victim and the true power in taking full ownership for all that is in our life.

  • The Power is in our Choices

  • We sometimes think that we don't have a choice. The negative energy surrounding these thoughts can drain us, taking our power away. Jody discusses why we do this, how to change our thinking and take our power back in ways that can improve our effectiveness.

  • Dodging Burnout

  • After battling chronic fatigue for 6 years, Jody began a 15 month month excursion around the world as a possible answer. Six months later he found himself in Indonesia burned out again. We take our patterns of burnout wherever we go. Discover mechanisms  to move beyond the perpetual burnout.
