Business Professional Seminars

Authentic Leadership

An intense program designed to uncover the factors that govern your behaviour in a way that allows you to take more control over them and increase your performance. It assists individuals and business professionals to improve their personal and professional lives by  covering such diverse topics as personal ethos, vision, fulfillment, confidence, integrity, values, assets, cravings, contribution and staying on track.

The session is followed up with  PROGRESS Coaching to support application of the learning.

Growing Your Business Forum (3 hours)

As a business owner, I will learn

Business Success Forum (5 hours)

- share and gain wisdom from the other business owners in the room
- gain expertise and coaching from the facilator as I build my plan.

PROGRESS: a forum for increasing effectiveness

PROGRESS is a framework that allows participants to learn new skills, share existing knowledge and assist each other in making progress in their individual area of focus. The core of the framework is a 4 week model that accelerates individual improvement through focused attention on one particular topic of improvement that will advance the person in their area of focus. 

This 4 week core consists of 

  • one day of Classroom Training
  • weekly Knowledge Exchange meetings
  • weekly Coaching sessions
  • daily steps in the workplace through a Continuous Learning Model

PROGRESS is designed to span a minimum of six 4 week periods. 

Area of Focus – each participant decides on an area of focus for the 24 weeks. 

Examples would include wanting to improve myself as a leader, manager, communicator, salesperson, project manager, presenter and facilitator.

Topic of Improvement – each participant has the opportunity to focus on a different topic of improvement for each 4 week core. This is a great opportunity to get clarity from those around us (boss, peers and/or staff) as to the areas that would benefit us the most in the months to come. It is also possible to focus on one topic of improvement for more than one 4 week core.

Examples would include wanting to improve my skills at providing feedback, listening, presenting, facilitating, time management, delegating, organizing and planning.

Communication Styles
Learn a simple and effective way to identify other peoples communication style and ways to adapt to them for improved communication. If we can laugh at it, we can live with it. See how this skill can impact all areas of your life including motivating others, sales, making agreements and issue resolution. This is a laughter filled session that all styles enjoy.

Learn a simple and effective way to communicate both positive recognition and constructive feedback. Identify and unlearn old patterns of behaviour that have prevented effective communication of this kind in the past

Effective Active Listening
Learn simple and effective ways to improve your listening skills and how this skill can impact all areas of your life including motivating others, sales, making agreements and issue resolution.

Effective Issue Resolution
Learn a simple and effective way to resolve issues from a position of win/win. Identify and unlearn old patterns of behaviour that have prevented effective issue resolution in the past.

Effectively Asking for What You Want 
Learn a simple and effective way to clearly ask for what you want from a position of win/win. Identify and unlearn old patterns of behaviour that have prevented effective agreement creation in the past.

Effective Teams 
Learn the Team Pledge that will assist me to remain in a performing state while ensuring that my team is also in the performing state as much as possible. Topics include communication, team states, team diagnosis and corrective action and personal ownership.

Effective Managers 
Learn the Team Pledge that will assist me to remain in a performing state while ensuring that my team is also in the performing state as much as possible. Topics include communication, team states, team diagnosis and corrective action, personal ownership, situational leadership and PROGRESS coaching.

Organizational Alignment
Participants define corporate vision, mission, values and proceed to align these guiding principles with strategic planning.

Employee Alignment
Participants define personal vision, mission, values and proceed to align these guiding principles with corporate guiding principles.

The Value Game
This challenging team event facilitates the embracing of corporate mission and values while participants learn how to participate more in alignment with these values.

Presentation and Facilitation Skills

Effective Presentation Skills 
Learn skills and the understanding that presentations are more than being in front of the room. Besides the preparation and follow-up, there is also our ability to be authentic in ways that encourages people to listen to our message and allows us to effectively handle the participants. 

Effective Facilitation Skills 
Unlike teaching and presenting, facilitation is the art of honouring individual needs while staying on track with the objectives of the group. Learn skills to manage the complex process of large group facilitation and gain the confidence to be able handle all foreseeable circumstances.

Outdoor Adventure Training
(half to 2 days)

Where the learning comes from a real life metaphor
and
where you must learn to trust your team mates with your life line.

The outdoors provides a whole new level of learning for individuals as they partake in activities that they may never have had a chance to before. Activities where they can push themselves to levels of participation they never dreamed possible.

Participants learn in hours what could take years of practical experience and trial and error to learn in the real world. They learn the importance of support as the way to make risk taking safer and to go to heights never before imagined.

Outdoor Trust Building (half to 1 day)
The low level activities in this program provide a very safe outdoor adventure to learn trust and team building.

Outdoor Team Dynamics (half to 1 day)
The low-level activities in this program provide ample opportunities for participants to uncover patterns of behaviour that impact the effectiveness of the team. These patterns can then be unlearned and replaced with more effective behaviours.

Outdoor Mega Trust (1 day)
A combination of low level and high level outdoor activities that build upon each other takes the team building and trust to a whole new level. People learn the value of teamwork and commitment to exceed where they never thought possible before.

Outdoor Team Synergy (2 day)
A combination of the above programs, this allows for a great deal more time debriefing the activities and looking at belief systems - your context, i.e. attitudes, opinions and beliefs - behind the participants’ behaviour. Only when we understand our underlying context and decide to change what isn't working, can we make long term behavioural change.
